Saint Macrina a Elder (prior to 270 - c. 340) is the grannie of Basil the Great, Saint Gregory of Nyssa, Saint Peter of Sebaste, and Saint Macrina the Younger. Little is known just about this saint. Her page was at Neocaesarea inside Pontus and during a Diocletian persecution, Macrina supposedly fled by having her married man to the shores of the Black Sea. She was widowed & is a patron of widow woman & the patron against poorness. Her feast is celebrated in 14 January.
